Easter Basket Project! Almost free!

This project kept my nephew busy for hours and he didn't play his video game ALL day while doing it!  I consider that a success!  Plus, it's practically free, using stuff you probably have around the house!

Here's what you need:

Tissue Box
Colored Tissue Paper
Construction paper
Scissors
Elmer's Glue
Stapler
Pen
chopstick

approximate time:  1 hour each side, depending on your child

I used what I had around, which was a small size kleenex box

Cut the top off

Cut two thin strips of construction paper for handles and I cut green for the inside.  Glue inside the box, and glue the "handles" on.  I stapled for extra stability.

For my pattern, I wanted a rabbit, so I drew the rabbit with a sharpie first

then cut tissue paper into small one inch by one inch squares.  This was only approximately...i wasn't too specific

I put some glue on a cardboard scrap, wrapped the tissue paper around a chopstick.  Dip in glue and attach to the box in your desired pattern

Can you see the bunny?

Here's a picture of my nephew working on his easter basket

I did eggs on the other side...all done!

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
