Nancy, tell us a little about yourself..
My inspiration is my Grandmother Luella. She taught me how to sew and up-cycle items in and around her house into crafts. So going to Grandmas to me was more of a treat than a torture. She also loved bird watching in her backyard, and had many bird knick-nacks around her house. This is all how my inspiration and shop name came about. She passed away in 2001 from breast cancer, and my shop was named in her honor.
I was born and raised in a small town in Indiana near the Ohio border, and we now reside in Gainesville, Florida. My husband works for the University of Florida, and I'm continuing my college education at the university in the Fall. I participate in local charity festivals for Luellabird every 3-4 months, and I'm also a vendor at the Downtown Union Street Gainesville Farmers Market every Wednesday. Luellabird is also sold in Persona (a vintage, costume, and collectible boutique) and Jeannie's Attic in Thornebrook Village (an upscale furniture and home decor store).
I only create pieces that I would wear and treasure. I guess you could say my Goddess necklace is what sparked my interest in starting my own Etsy shop. I was at my usual coffee spot one morning, and the ladies there commented on my handmade necklace. The comments continued, and then they asked me to start bringing them in pieces for them to shop from, and one thing lead to another... The pace of small business and the excitement of meeting new people and learning new crafts is exactly where I want to be!

I am a sahm, that was encouraged to sell my gifts I made for others online. I have started doing that recently. I enjoy making things for others that bring peace, happiness and balance in their lives. This also helps to supplement the income when I am unemployed as I currently am.
Check out my other sites, since I often post specials that are not posted elsewhere! I get inspired by everything. I can read a book and the pattern on the cover will inspire me. Sometimes a need for organization will inspire an item in my store that I consider organizational or decorative. Sometimes it's something as simple as the uniqueness of a flower hair accessory. A good example of the flower itself as inspiration would be the hot pink and white lotus flower hair accessory. We saw the bunched flowers together and fell in love.
I also do other things, and love bibs and burp cloths that coordinate for outings! I love how it makes the baby appear purposely dressed to match without being overly done, if you know what I mean. So, a lot of the baby items were simply something I wished I had when my children were younger.
