New! Rose Sculpture Jewelry

For one of my best friend's wedding this past October, I designed these simple and modern rose sculpture (scribble?) earrings!  Her theme was roses and her colors were red and gold, so I thought it was appropriate!  These sets are what the bridesmaids wore.  All materials are gold filled with semi precious stones.

What do you think?

Set #1:

Of course, you don't have to put them together this way, but I liked the small earrings with the large necklace :

Small rose sculpture earrings dangling on a large clear quartz crystal with large triple rose necklace.  The rose in the center of the necklace is larger than the ones on the sides:

Here's a close up:

Set #2
Large single rose sculpture earrings with crystal quartz "dew drop" with triple mini rose sculpture necklace:

close ups of the earrings and necklace:

and last, but not least, the earrings I designed for the bride herself for her rehearsal brunch:

double rose earrings:

These are all now listed for sale in my etsy shop!
Check it out!

I think they came out so much better than I was expecting!  Her wedding was simple and elegant and I wanted earrings that wouldn't be too over the top or "bridesmaid-ey" and I think they came out very well.  Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Sea Glass Necklace and earrings

My sister-in-law and her family go to Hawaii every year for vacation.  Her husband decided to collect some sea glass from the beach (secretly, and even got a sunburn doing it) and brought it back for me to design some jewelry around it to commemorate their vacation.   Isn't that sweet of him?

He gave me a huge bag of shells and glass to sift through...it was pretty heavy and I can't believe he brought that all back!  What a great idea, though!

My sister-in-law loves matching sets, so I set out to make a necklace and earring set for her.  First I tried to find pieces that either matched relatively well or I thought could go together.  Plus, color was important, too.

Of course, I do not have a drill, so I had to decide how to best wire wrap the glass.  I used 28 gauge half hard sterling silver wire.  I think this looks best with sea glass because the holes that get drilled in the piece are so large and sometimes crack the glass.

But here it is!  My final result!  Tell me what you think!

Hawaiian sea glass and freshwater pearl in sterling silver earrings

Freshwater pearl and hawaiian sea glass necklace with delicate double strand sterling silver chain:  I found three pieces that were sort of triangular shaped and I thought would look pretty as part of a necklace instead of a pendant type.  And to add some interest, I doubled the delicate chain and added another bounty of the sea - freshwater pearls.

Here's the wrap in a little more detail:  I never realized how difficult it would be to wrap it in a pretty manner, but I think I'm hooked!

and the back with an extender, of course! and a little sea shell i found in the bag that already had a convenient hole in it  =)

and here's what they look like on...soooo pretty and I love how personal it is!

This is one of a kind and unfortunately, not going into my store.  However, he did say I can keep the rest of the sea glass, so if you would like something specially made for you, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss!  Hurry!  Christmas is just around the corner!

Have a great week!

Check out some of my sea glass jewelry I've recently posted on etsy!

Chaotic Knot earrings

A sneak peak at one of my most popular lines...

My chaotic knot earrings...surprisingly elegant and goes with just about everything!  My chaotic knot jewelry can be done in either gold filled, sterling silver or anti-tarinish argentium silver and come in a bunch of different varieties - from long to short to fit every taste!

Stay tuned for necklaces, bracelets and knots with semi-precious stones!

Gold filled Long Knots (also available in silver!)

Sterling Silver Short knot

Sterling Silver Knot on Chain

Gold filled and Sterling Stud Knots

These are all surprisingly difficult and hard on the hands to make.  You'd be surprised, but the wire doesn't always go where you want it to make a symmetrical circle and its taken a little bit of trial and error to get it juuuuust right...enjoy!

Love them and have to have a pair for yourself?

Silver hoop and clear quartz earrings

One of my newest!  Made out of a thicker gauge sterling silver wire with a large, faceted quartz crystal ball.  This one is already pretty popular!

Each hoop is hand formed and the thicker gauge makes it a little bit trickier.

Here's what it looks like on!  So chic, yet so simple.

Silver Feather earrings

These earrings are one of my latest and greatest...and seems to be very popular, too!

My interpretation of feathers in metal =)  All pieces are separate and swing when you move your head and looks great with long hair =)

They are made by hand hammering the metal, and yes, I've hit my fingers a few times!  It's very difficult (for me) to make sure the metal keeps it's shape and doesn't get flat in all the wrong places.

The above is the large version, and per request, I have made a smaller version below =)

earrings with accents

These gorgeous earrings were a design I stole from my friend and co-worker, Julie.  She's the one who assisted me into the making jewelry world.  She had given me a swarovski crystal and labradorite earrings with a similar design.  I really really liked it, so I studied it and actually was able to copy it!  I was so proud of myself.  Her labradorite stone was actually considerably larger than the ones I've used, which is one of the reasons I wanted to copy it.  They were beautiful earrings, but tugged on my ear a little bit due to the weight.  I wanted the same, but with lighter, smaller stones.

From left to right:  Amethyst (2 different shades), venetian glass beads from Italy with swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls with labradorite.  I do not have these listed in my etsy store, but feel free to contact me if you would like a pair for yourself!

connie earrings

These earrings were commissioned by my friend Connie (hence the name!). She was my very second customer and wanted something classy and that would match everything. These are silvery purple 9mm freshwater pearl accented by a similar color 2 mm seed freshwater pearl. All in sterling silver. Her cousin, Amy, liked them so much, all her bridesmaids got one! Thanks, guys!

Katerina earrings

These earrings were the very first piece of jewelry I made after Jules took me to the jewelry district. It's silvery blue button freshwater pearls on sterling silver chain. I also took my own picture - I like to document all the stuff I do - hahaha. Can you tell I took the picture by myself with my little point and shoot camera?

I was just dying to make something at this point. From studying some jewelry I had at home, I thought..."how hard could it be?". I sent myself to Michaels arts and craft store and bought a small plyers set that I still use to this day. I browsed through one or two beading books while I was there just to get my basic technique down and i was off!

Once these were made, I decided I would give them to a friend who's birthday was conveniently around the corner :). I find that ever since istarted making jewelry, I LOVE giving gifts! I didn't have boxes yet, but I had all envelope templates from my former life as a card-maker (another hobby) so I made vellum envelopes and used them as make-shift gift boxes. I wish I had taken a picture of those
