New charm necklaces!

I'm so excited to share...

I just listed these adorable charm necklaces in my etsy shop!  They are just too cute!  Delicate, light and airy!

This is a charm I've been on the hunt for for a long time!  It's a delicate and tiny three dimensional rhodium plated skull charm.  Yes, skull!  I love it because it's so tiny and discreetly elegant.  From far away, it looks like a little circle charm but close up, you discover it's a skull!  I say it's the perfect gift for a teenager or any skull-lover, like me!

and a delicate airy, three dimensional rhodium plated leaf charm on a sterling silver chain

simple enough to wear everyday, delicate and tiny enough for the little girl or tween in your life!

also available in gold!  check them out!

Amita's Mudroom Giveaway! ends 4/1/12

It's my pleasure you bring you Amita Bhalla, from Amita's mudroom.  A woman after my own heart, who loves sculpture and playing with clay!  I've always wanted to learn how to throw on the wheel, but never got around to taking a class (you know, it's always, I'll do it next month)...now I don't know how I'm ever going to do it with a new baby, but now I can live vicariously through Amita's gorgeous jewelry!

Amita, please tell us a little bit about yourself!

Hello! My name is Amita Bhalla and I am the artist in the mudroom! Ever since I can remember I have been drawing and painting. I was introduced to the world of clay over a decade ago and right then began my love affair with mud. I have created numerous pieces of pottery both by hand-building and throwing on the wheel.

More recently I also began applying my love for sculpting to jewelry and I am enjoying making a diverse style of unique “Wearable Art”. Each piece of art is one-of-a-kind, with it's own name and my initials engraved at the back (except in cases where the pendant has a metal back-plate). In my quest to use premium quality clay, I came across a non-irritant phthalate-free product containing pure beeswax and this is the clay I use to make all my jewelry.

Being in my mudroom is a zen-like experience for me and the stillness allows my instincts to guide my hands to create with pure love and a feeling of harmony.  Since we are all spiritual beings made of energy I believe that having one of my pieces will bring these good vibrations into your life.

I am also a wife, mother, daughter, friend and health-care provider and all these roles I find deeply fulfilling. I believe in creating ones own happiness and I'm always finding ways to maximize my existence. In the process I hope to spread love and good cheer in the world around me.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.

Custom Name Necklaces

I'm happy to share some custom name necklaces that I recently had ordered on my etsy site...

Name necklaces are done in sterling silver, gold filled or argentium (anti-tarnish) sterling silver.  They can be further customized with your choice of stones...all names are handmade by me free form!

When doing a custom necklace, I always do a copper "mock-up" like the one below.  The AnneMarie necklace was ordered by someone for their niece.  I send my customer a picture (with a ruler, so they know approximately how big it will be) of the copper mock up for approval.  Once they give the okay and/or any changes made, I make it in the precious wire.

Here's necklaces I did for two sisters (ages 10 and 5).  They were so happy with them and their mother reports to me that they wear them everyday.  She loves it because they are affordable and she doesn't have to worry about them losing it, but they are still sterling silver and won't turn their necks green.  Stephanie's is done with dark amethyst and Samantha's are done with pale pink freshwater pearls.

This necklace was made for a 20-30 something year old =) who wears it proudly and totally loves her custom creation!  Stones are labradorite.

This adorable necklace was made for a work friend for her niece with green aventurine accents

This one was made for my dear friend Jane with clear quartz accents...

Blue Soul Designs GIVEAWAY

I would like to offer you a wonderful giveaway for a wonderful shop!

I'm so pleased to introduce you to Sarah from Blue Soul Designs!  She does gorgeous rings featuring the natural beauty of whatever stone or item she's working with!

Hi!  My name is Sarah and I live in Enterprise, AL. I am a wife and mom to 4 kiddos. I love the beach and anything inspired by nature. Because of that, you will see a lot of designs that center around nature. And, blue does happen to be my favorite color :) I LOVE natural stones. I use those as often as I can. I also like to think outside of the box and come up with unique rings, such as my Cog ring.

The idea for this shop came out of illness. I have mold illness and Lyme disease. I needed an outlet and a way to help offset some medical costs. This was it:) I started making rings and when friends & family saw them, they just loved them. I can tell you that making rings truely come from the heart and soul and I absolutely put my all in it.  Money earned from my sales go toward offsetting medical costs.  We have insurance, but doesn't cover everything, and my family and I had to leave our home and all of our belongs February of last year.

Opening my own Etsy store has been wonderful!  I love making rings for people.  It's very theraputic for me.  I put my all into each ring that I make!  I am passionate about my work! I want you to be completely happy with your design. I am a bit OCD and a perfectionist, so that totally works in your favor!

Thanks, Sarah!
